The magazine has used this image of Kim Kardashian to appeal to men. The reason they have used this picture is because Kim has very little clothing on and it is showing of certain areas of her that men will be attracted to. Because of this they may be more inclined to read the magazine.
Kim Kardashian is showing off the parts of her body that she is most famous for. You know she is doing this on purpose because of the heading "American Booty! Kim Kardashian". The fact that she is wearing a white bikini shows that she is trying to act innocent.
Apart from one headline about her, none of the other stories on the front have anything to do with her and also have very little to do about women. This could be seen as disrespecting woman as her purpose on the front of the magazine is to show of her body and attract the men. There is also a smaller picture of woman in underwear again proving that the editor has used pictures of woman purely to attract men.
Film Poster Analysis
Hunger Games Poster
At first look you can straight away tell that the poster is showing of an action based film. You can tell this by the look the character has got on her face whilst she is holding the bow. The fact the bow is pointing straight at us shows that things are on edge, its also like this to grab your attention straight away. The reason for this is our eyes are straight away attracted to the center of the page (in this case the girls face). The look on her face is very serious and looks like she is looking directly at you. This as well as the bow aiming at us grabs attention straight away. In terms of a poster this is great because it straight away grabs the attention and makes you want to learn more about the film.Once you have noticed her face your eyes get drawn to the "hunger games" title and the fiery crest behind it. This is what "seals the deal" in term of it being an action film. The reason for this is because you wouldn't expect to see a fiery crest in any other genre of film really apart from action. This is why the crest is so important because possibly without it the film could look like a completely different genre. The crest also set the color for the whole poster. The crest is orange and the characters hand, shown behind the crest, is orange is well. This orange slowly fades out across the poster but the effect is still there showing that this will be an action film. Also the color of orange is usually associated with things like fire and danger. This is why the crest if on fire and also could be the reason she is point the bow at us as oppose to another angle.
PowerPoint
A Wife's Tale.
To come up with the idea of "A Wife's Tale" we used the genre fantasy and aimed it at under 10's. The problem with these two put together was that there wasn't much originality about it. To stop this we specifically focused on making the fantasy film historic. The reason for this was because this was something that hadn't really been done before in the way we where planning for this. This would therefore make the film have a better appeal to not only children but to the parents as well.
Making this film have an appeal was our main films. Historically history films are not that good and do not get very good ratings. Because of this we made sure that we picked a high quality class and gave it a fun exciting story line that would appeal to kids and the cast would also appeal to parents.
The plot of the film was two young children are not learning doing well in their history class, because of this they have been given an old textbook to revise from. This text book is magical and takes them back to Tudor times where they discover Henry VIII had an extra wife that know one knew about. Because of this story line the title had to be chosen well so it didn't give to much away but still linked to the film. This is why the title "A wife's tale" was chosen. The reason it was chosen was because a wife's tale is an old saying so loosely ties in with the historic genre but it also links with the film because the film is about an extra wife. Because of this we felt that the title worked well.
Film opening
This is the open scene of the film Triple X. The intro to this film is full of action which sets the tone for the rest of the film. The opening scene takes place at a party in America where a stuck up rich man refereed to as "dick" ask for his car to be parked. Vin Diesel, part of a gang, steals the car and drives it from the party to a bridge. Whilst he is driving it to the bridge he talks to the camera about why he has stolen the car. He then proceeds to drive the car of the bridge all for the sake of the video.
As said before the film is set at a party in America, from the film you can guess the party is set in a hilly area at around midday. You can tell it is in a hilly area because later on in the scene he jumps a car of the bridge. The theme of the film is action so the opening scene is full of action to set the tone for the rest of the film. In this specific scenes there are many icons used the main one being the cameras in the car and the cameras that the other gang members are holding. This specific icon is used so when the scene is edited to it you get to see the stunt from the gangs perspective and also the reasons they did it.
